“Between Two Cultures” is an initiative started by the two composers Dr. Nahla Mattar (Egypt) and Sune Kølster (Denmark) to examine, educate and enhance the use of the middle-eastern maqam tonality in its various aspects of pitch, color and textures, in contemporary composition, through workshops, masterclasses and dialogue.
